Primerjava dveh napitkov ob teku na dolge proge Avtor: Mitja Lainscak Mentor: prof. dr. Jože Drinovec, dr.med.
IZHODIŠCA: Pitje tekocine ustreznega volumna in sestave med naporom delno popravlja nenormalnosti v homeostazi telesnih tekocin in tako izboljšuje clovekovo fizicno zmogljivost.
NAMEN: V prospektivni primerjalni raziskavi na 12 zdravih treniranih tekacih na dolge proge smo ob teku 18 km preizkušali ucinke pitja izotonicnega napitka (Izomaratonik, Krka) v primerjavi z vodo, obakrat ob enaki shemi pitja. Pitje izotonicnega napitka ustrezneje nadomešca izgubljeno tekocino ob teku na dolge proge kot pitje vode.
METODE: Preiskovanci so v dveh zaporednih poskusih pretekli po 18 km in med vsakim popili 700 ml tekocine, prvic vode in drugic izotonicnega napitka. Pred tekom in po njem smo jih stehtali, jim izmerili krvni tlak leže in sede ter odvzeli vzorce krvi in urina.
REZULTATI: Povprecna starost preiskovancev (11 moških in 1 ženska) je bila 34.9 ± 9.1 (SD) let, povprecna telesna visina 173.5 ± 7.2 (SD) cm in povprecna telesna masa 73.0 ± 9.8 (SD) kg. Med režimoma pitja ni bilo razlik v pocutju in zmogljivosti preiskovancev, so pa preiskovanci bolje, ceprav ne signifikantno, prenašali izotonicni napitek. Signifikantno bolj se je zmanjšal sistolicni krvni tlak, tako leže kot sede, pri režimu pitja vode. Serumski koncentraciji natrijevega in kloridnega iona sta se signifikantno manj povecali pri režimu pitja izotonicnega napitka.
ZAKLJUCEK: Pitje izotonicnega napitka je v primerjavi s pitjem vode stabiliziralo krvni tlak in ublažilo spremembe v sestavi plazme in urina.

BACKGROUND: Drinking of adequate volume of fluid with right composition during exercise can partly normalize the abnormalities in body fluids homeostasis and improves physical performance.
PURPOSE: In our prospective comparative study we tested the effects of drinking isotonic beverage (Izomaratonik, Krka) compared to water during the 18 km run. Isotonic beverage supplements lost fluid during the long distance running more adequately than water.
METHODS: Subjects ran 18 km in each of two consecutive trials. During the trial they drank 700 ml of fluid, water in first and isotonic beverage in second trial. Before and after the run we measured their weight, blood pressure both in sitting and lying position and took the blood and urine samples.
RESULTS: Eleven men and one woman, all healthy and well trained long distance runners, with a mean age 34.9 ± 9. I (SD) years, mean body height of 173.5 ±7.2 (SD) cm and mean body mass of 73.0 ± 9.g (SD) kg were the subjects of our study. No differences in drink effects were found for performance and feeling of the subjects. However, the subjects tolerated isotonic beverage better though it was not significant. The systolic blood pressure, both in lying and sitting position, decreased significantly more in water trial. Serum concentrations of sodium and chloride increased significantly less in isotonic beverage trial.
CONCLUSION: Ingestion of isotonic beverage compared to water stabilized blood pressure and minimized changes in plasma and urine.
